Skaterboyz
Tonight my good friend Mike Santarossa is hosting an art show at Muni tonight, 22 Anacapa Funk Zone. My shop is in the back of same building as Muni so I got a sneak peak during installation. All the artists did an insane job on these boards, you HAVE to see these.

Watch our S2013 Spring Fashion NOW!
So excited to get this online. My team and I worked our asses off for this show. Months of creating 60 looks, booking 20 models and producing a beautiful event that Santa Barbara had never seen before. We don’t have to be in LA to do this. And that is all I heard for the rest of the night once the show was over. We brought LA to SB. Everything you see in the show will be available soon on the website. You can buy some of it now at the DNA Store. For the all the skirts and dresses you see in the video, email me at lindsey@cmnd-z.com so we can custom make you a beautiful piece.

Printing Party on tha Block
Friday night was RAD. The shop was full from beginning to end, even despite the rain. I love throwing these screen printing parties because people get really creative with their shirt and hoody designs and it is fun for me to show them how the process works. My printer, Teresa, is a badass and printed for our guests all night long. Thanks to everyone who came to support local SB Funk Zones businesses. Each suite in the back of our building hosted their own party so each space you went to was a totally different scene. That’s how we do in the Funk Zone. See yall next time!

Our Spring Launch Party
The things I like most about my job (besides making art and putting it on clothes duh) are producing photoshoots, videos, fashion shows, and events. For this year’s Spring Collection launch, we will be hosting the party at our headquarters along with the other rad businesses right outside my door.
From our printshop, you will find us live screen printing and selling clothes. We are also showing a screening of our Spring Fashion Show at 10pm. So come join us SB and support local Funk Zone artists and entrepreneurs yeeeeehawww! This Friday January 25th along with Jessica Rose Tattoo Shop, Tropicali Beach Beauty Boutique, Shannon Jayne Photography, Calioca, and Sacred Hats.

Girls Run This Shit
Two days ago, we sponsored Girls Run This Shit. Female vocalists, musicians, and artists banded together for a kick ass night. Our resident CMND-Z printer, Teresa, hosted a screen printing demo! Bummer we didn’t snap photos of this part. We spotted Shennie, lead singer of Pretty Awesome wearing our Panther CMND-Z batwing tee. Kisses for the wild time we had!

Our W2012 Fashion Show w/ AmericanRiviera.com
My entire summer consisted of running the print shop and all the commercial client printing jobs, starting a new women’s wear line called CMND-Z Society, and event coordinating and fashion show production for a big event with AmericanRiviera.com in the Santa Barbara Funk Zone. Check out their website for more party pics.
I am finally just settling down, a month after the completion of the show, to put photos on the blog. We have tons on the FB page here, Big ups to AmericanRiviera.com for putting on a stunning event. I am honored to have worked with such a fine company.

Fresh Ink
Just kidding, I haven’t started tattooing…yet. I had the honor of painting a water dragon on the one and only Ms. Gina Tolleson, the style editor of Santa Barbara Magazine and C Magazine. Ms. Tolleson went to the StoryTellers charity event at the Bacara last night. The theme was “The Year of the Water Dragon,” so she hired me to paint a giant water dragon on her back for the event. She looked RAVISHING in her outfit and hair and makeup. I’m sure she was the most eye-catching attendee of the ball.

Our Fall Live Printing Party
Saturday night was so fun. We opened our doors to the Funk Zone Studio Walk and hosted a live screen rpinting party. Our guests got to design their own printed tees. We had really cool blank shirts to choose from and 6 different screens of artwork. People get so creative and excited about their shirts. I love hosting those printing parties. And I especially love seeing them worn around town. Our next printing party is our Sweatshirt Hoody Christmas party in the beginning of December. So make sure you join us for that one too.

Funk Zone Envisioning
I was recently on a committee that helped put together vision boards for what the SB Funk Zone could possibly be in the future. For those of you who do not know or who do not live in SB, my CMND-Z print shop and headquarters is located in the heart of the Santa Barbara Funk Zone which is this amazing artist area down by the beach. It is one of the last remaining areas in SB that have preserved local businesses and true SB culture. Catherine Gee, the director of the Arts Fund Gallery, put together this project in which architects, designers, painters, landscape architects, and city council members all sat on different committees to dream up these ideas that could actually become a reality. The show is currently up right now at the Arts Fund, check it all out at http://artsfundsb.org/
Of course, my main contribution and vision was to deck the entire area in murals and art walls. The image above is one of my ideas for signage. No use for traditional signs everywhere. This is the FUNK. Here are some more of my ideas that are up in the gallery right now…
